CBRE’s 11th HomeAid Care Day

On October 21, CBRE employees partnered with HomeAid Atlanta for a HomeAid Care Day at Sheltering Arms in College Park.

Atlanta – November 9, 2022 – CBRE employees volunteered with HomeAid Atlanta on October 21 at Sheltering Arms in College Park. Volunteers participated in a HomeAid Care Day, a volunteer workday that provides free-of-charge maintenance and repairs at organizations serving people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. Sheltering Arms works to close opportunity gaps by transforming the lives of children and their families through high quality, equitable early childhood education.  More than 3,000 children and their families are served by Sheltering Arms each year across its 13 Atlanta centers, which offer learning opportunities as young as six weeks of age, and support for families including job search and housing assistance.

CBRE volunteers spent the day completing extensive landscaping, including planting flowers and spreading seven cubic yards of mulch around the property, as well as cleaning and disinfecting toys and children’s bikes. In addition, volunteers cleaned out and organized a large storage closet to streamline access to necessary items and make room for much-needed cribs. In addition to the volunteer labor, CBRE donated $6,600 to offset the cost of materials needed to make these beautiful and necessary updates at Sheltering Arms.

This was CBRE’s 11th HomeAid Care Day since 2010. Over the years, CBRE volunteers have joined HomeAid Care Days at locations including Jerusalem House, Covenant House, The Drake House, and HomeStretch, as well as provided funding for these events. CBRE has also supported HomeAid Atlanta’s annual Essentials Drive to collect diapers and wipes for families in need. Long-term supporters like CBRE are integral to the work of HomeAid Atlanta. These partnerships sustain HomeAid Atlanta, creating a lasting impact for the many organizations served and ultimately hundreds of families and individuals in need.
