Pinnacle Financial Partners Pack 500 HomeAid CareKits
Atlanta – November 8, 2024 – HomeAid Georgia had the pleasure of organizing a CareKit event with Pinnacle Financial Partners on October 21 to pack 500 hygiene kits for people experiencing homelessness. This is HomeAid’s second time partnering with Pinnacle Financial Partners, with the first being a Care Day at Calvary Refuge Center in 2023.
CareKits are bags filled with hygiene items such as deodorant, toothpaste, socks, and bandaids. These kits can be given to people experiencing homelessness by nonprofit organizations that do street outreach to spark conversations and offer assistance to those in need, or by anyone that encounters a person without shelter and wants to provide useful items.
While there are existing programs to help provide food for people in need, there is no public safety net program aiding with the essential hygiene items found in CareKits. Without collaborating with organizations like Pinnacle Financial Partners to help HomeAid provide CareKits, many people experiencing homelessness in metro Atlanta would not have these everyday items.
The CareKits packed on October 21 were provided to North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC) to distribute. Founded in 1983, NFCC offers programs and services that help prevent hunger and homelessness in North Fulton and create pathways to a stronger future for close to 10,000 residents each year. NFCC provides assistance in five program areas including case management/financial assistance, food pantry, clothing assistance, education and workforce development, and seasonal assistance programs at its two facilities in Roswell, Georgia. In addition, NFCC offers utility assistance, transportation assistance, benefits screening, tax filing assistance and onsite childcare.
