Ashton Woods and its Partners Donate over $120,000 to Atlanta Charities

HomeAid Atlanta and Camp Twin Lakes receive funds totaling over $60,000 each

ATLANTA (December 22, 2021) – Ashton Woods, one of the nation’s largest private homebuilders, and its partners recently raised over $120,000 for two local charities at its 6th Annual Trade Partners Charity Golf Tournament at Bear’s Best Atlanta. On December 22, HomeAid Atlanta and Camp Twin Lakes were each presented with checks totaling over $60,000 at the Ashton Woods national headquarters in Alpharetta.

“HomeAid Atlanta and Camp Twin Lakes are both organizations that inspire hope, and that is a mission we believe everyone can get behind,” said Tony Albachiara, senior vice president, national sales at Ashton Woods. “We want to thank each and every one of our partners and associates who made this gift possible. During this season of giving, we hope others will be inspired to join us in supporting these worthy causes.”

Held each year in the fall, the Ashton Woods and Starlight Homes Trade Partners Charity Golf Tournament helps to raise funds for select Atlanta charities. Through this year’s event, raffles, car wash and other activities, a total of $121,151 was raised by nearly 60 participating organizations, split evenly among this year's recipient organizations. Presenting sponsors of the tournament included FBC Mortgage, LLC; Strack, Inc.; North Georgia Erosion and Whirlpool Corporation. SEI Group; Progressive Lighting, Inc. and Moen were sponsors of the event’s reception.

HomeAid Atlanta builds and maintains housing and programmatic facilities for reputable nonprofit organizations and public institutions serving those experiencing homelessness by leveraging its relationships within the building industry to garner in-kind donations of labor and materials.

“This gift is amazing,” said Mandy Crater, executive director of HomeAid Atlanta. “It is the largest single donation that we have received in our 20 years of service and opens up new possibilities for us as we continue our mission to add beds and program space to help build a future without homelessness.”

For nearly 30 years, Camp Twin Lakes has delivered fully adaptive, medically supportive and deeply impactful therapeutic camping experiences to more than 10,000 of Georgia’s children and young adults, helping each camper grow in their confidence and experience the joys of childhood.

“At Camp Twin Lakes campers learn perseverance, resilience and a sense of community,” said Ashley Henderson, manager, volunteer and community engagement at Camp Twin Lakes. “This gift will have an immediate impact on our ability to help develop mindful and confident children who are prepared to triumph over challenges and accomplish extraordinary things.”
